Non-Licensed Work
SAFE have applied to join UKATA (United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association) as a Category 2 Training Provider. This means that we are able to provide training to those persons requiring the knowledge and skills to undertake Non-Licensable asbestos remediation works, such as the removal of asbestos containing floor tiles, asbestos cement and other products where the asbestos is in good condition and the fibres are firmly bound in a matrix.
The course is structured around the two basic components of classroom –based delivery of theory and knowledge, and a practical session that focuses on the use of personal protective equipment, safe working methods and the handling of asbestos materials. This day long course is invaluable to those organisations who are involved in the refurbishment of properties and want to carry out works themselves in accordance and fully compliant with current legislation. The Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2006 states that all workers who knowingly disturb asbestos require this kind of training.
NOTE: This course is NOT suitable for those intending to undertake Licensable Work. Please call for further details!
“All training should be provided by someone who is competent to do so, who has had adequate personal practical experience and who has a theoretical knowledge of all relevant aspects of the work being carried out by the employer.” CAR 2006, Reg 10.
